Halló, ég heiti Paula og er frá Rúmeníu. Mig langar að segja ykkur aðeins frá komandi hátíðum, það er; jólunum. Jólafrí í okkar landi hefst 24. desember, þá er aðfangadagskvöld. Þann dag útbúa allir hefðbundna rétti frá Rúmeníu eins og: sarmale, reyktar pylsur, beouf salat (það þýðir hefðbundinn matur). Að kvöldi 24. desember syngja börnin nokkur jólalög.

Í okkar landi eru jólin 3 dagar: 25., 26. og 27. desember. Síðan við komum til Íslands höldum við sömu hefð og í Rúmeníu, það er að segja að við eldum hefðbundinn mat, við skreytum jólatréð.

Sem dæmi má nefna að 6. desember er nafnadagur fólksins sem heitir Nicoleta eða Nicolaie (eins og heilagur Nicolas? ) Fallegasta hefðin er samt sú að á kvöldin þrífa börnin stígvélin sín og bíða þess að morguninn eftir fái þau gjafir í stígvélin frá jólasveininum. Allar hefðirnar í Rúmeníu eru fallegar og okkur líkar við þær, það er bara þannig að það hefur ekki verið mikill snjór núna í nokkur ár á meðan á Íslandi er mikið af honum og okkur líkar svo vel... Við erum vön þessum jólum á Íslandi og það eru 6 ár síðan við höldum jól bara hér með fjölskyldu og vinum. Íslenskt fólk er gott fólk og hefur fínar jólahefðir. Þetta eru jólin í Rúmeníu. Hello, my name is Paula and I am from Romania. I would like to tell you a little about the coming holidays, that is; Christmas. Christmas holidays in our country start on December 24 th, then it is Christmas Eve: on that day, everyone prepares traditional dishes from Romania such as: sarmale, smoked sausages, beouf salad (this means traditional food). On the evening of December 24th, the children sing some Christmas carols.

In our country, Christmas is 3 days: on December 25, 26 and 27. Ever since we came to Iceland, we keep the same tradition as in Romania, that is, we cook traditional food, we decorate the Christmas tree.

For example, December 6th is the name day of the people whose name is Nicoleta or Nicolaie ( like saint Nicolas? ) The most beautiful tradition is that in the evening the children clean their boots, waiting for the next morning to receive gifts in the boots from Santa Claus. All the traditions in Romania are beautiful and we like them, it's just that there hasn't been much snow for a few years now, while in Iceland we have a lot and we really like that... We're used to it in Iceland and it's been 6 years since we celebrate Christmas just here with family and friends. And Icelandic people are nice people and have nice Christmas traditions. This is Christmas in Romania.
